Promotional Event Effectiveness - The Advertising Specialties Impressions Study

If you have ever wondered about the effectiveness of promotional products compared to other advertising media then the wait is over!
Making the right decision on which advertising medium to use for an effective promotional event no longer needs to be hard work.
On November 10, 2008 the Advertising Specialty Institute released their Advertising Specialties Impressions Study at the ASI Power Summit.
465 business people were surveyed on behalf of ASI regarding promotional products they had received. The objective was to understand how advertising specialties influence purchasing decisions among other things in an attempt to analyse the Cost Per Impression (CPI) of advertising specialties compared to other popular advertising media.
Here is a quick summary of what happened when respondents were asked if they had received any promotional products in the last 12 months:
- 84% remembered the advertisers of the promotional products they received
- 42% had a MORE favourable impression of an advertiser after receiving the item
- 24% said they are MORE likely to do businesss with the advertiser on the items they receive
- Writing instruments are the most-recalled items (54%) followed by shirts, caps and bag
Leading the Cost-Per-Impression rankings was the good old fashioned bag which was reported to be used most frequently, on average, 9 times per month thus delivering the most impressions - Each bag averages 1,308 imptessions per month.
The final wrap up?
Well, when it comes to promotional event effectiveness, the average CPI of an advertision specialty item is $0.004 and as a result, marketers will get a more favorable return on investment from advertising specialties than nearly any other popular advertising media.
